Detroit Center Closed Labor Day Weekend

In observance of Labor Day, the University of Michigan Detroit Center will be closed beginning Saturday, September 2 through Monday, September 4. The Detroit Center will re-open for regular business hours on Tuesday, September 5.

Concert of Colors returns to Midtown Detroit for its 25th anniversary

Concert of Colors began as a modest, yet highly ambitious, one-day event at a single venue on Detroit’s east riverfront. Now, the popular annual event returns to multiple venues in Midtown Detroit July 12-16, 2017, for its landmark 25th-anniversary celebration of music from around the world. In recent years, attendance has reached 80,000 people.

QLine Service Begins May 12; Stop Located Near Detroit Center

Beginning on Friday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m., the QLine transit service along Woodward Avenue in Detroit will be open to the public. For individuals riding the Detroit Connector bus, a QLine station is located at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. and Woodward Avenue, at the opposite corner of the Detroit Connector bus stop.

Concert of Colors celebrates 25 years this summer

Marking a quarter-century of highlighting global music, the Concert of Colors returns to Midtown Detroit July 12-16. Produced by several of the area’s cultural centers — Arab American National Museum, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Institute of Arts, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, ACCESS and the University of Michigan-Detroit Center — the indoor and outdoor event celebrates 25 years this summer.
