Feodies ShippFeodies Shipp III is the Acting Director of the University of Michigan Detroit Center. He started his career in Higher Education with the U-M Career Center in 1995. From 1996 to 2010, he worked his way up the ranks in the University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions – from Admissions Counselor to Assistant Director. In 2010, Feodies accepted the position of Associate Director of the Detroit Center. Through this position, he was able to combine two of his greatest passions, the University of Michigan and the city of Detroit.

Feodies Shipp III is the Interim Director of the University of Michigan Detroit Center. He started his career in Higher Education with the U-M Career Center in 1995. From 1996 to 2010, he worked his way up the ranks in the University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions – from Admissions Counselor to Assistant Director. In 2010, Feodies accepted the position of Associate Director of the Detroit Center.

Through this position, he was able to combine two of his greatest passions, the University of Michigan and the city of Detroit.

Born and raised in Detroit, Feodies is excited by the city’s rebirth and believes the University can be a significant contributor to that experience. Shipp earned his BA in History from the University of Michigan and a MA in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University.

Gerrard Rayford

Facilities Coordinator

Gerrard RayfordGerrard Rayford is primarily responsible for the management, coordination and maintenance of the Detroit Center’s spaces and equipment. He is also responsible for the development, coordination, and installation of exhibits for the Monts Hall Gallery.

Gerrard Rayford is primarily responsible for the management, coordination and maintenance of the Detroit Center’s spaces and equipment. He is also responsible for the development, coordination, and installation of exhibits for the Monts Hall Gallery.

In addition to his role at the University of Michigan, Gerrard is majoring in History at Wayne State University, with interests in creative writing, music production, and sports.

Danielle Holmon provides administrative support for the Detroit Center and its employees.

More about Danielle Holmon

Danielle Holmon is the Administrative Assistant for the Detroit Center. A Detroit native and graduate of Renaissance High School, Danielle is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining the Detroit Center, Danielle previously worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Wayne County Health & Human Services Department, Director of Wayne County Head Start Division, as well as the Director of the Juvenile and Youth Services Division of Wayne County.  Additionally, Danielle currently sits on the Wayne County Head Start Governing Board.
