Feodies Shipp III

Acting Director

Feodies ShippFeodies Shipp III is the Acting Director of the University of Michigan Detroit Center. He started his career in Higher Education with the U-M Career Center in 1995. From 1996 to 2010, he worked his way up the ranks in the University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions – from Admissions Counselor to Assistant Director. In 2010, Feodies accepted the position of Associate Director of the Detroit Center. Through this position, he was able to combine two of his greatest passions, the University of Michigan and the city of Detroit.

Born and raised in Detroit, Feodies is excited by the city’s rebirth and believes the University can be a significant contributor to that experience. Shipp earned his BA in History from the University of Michigan and his MA in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University.

Courtney Kezlarian

Receptionist

Courtney Kezlarian is the receptionist at the Detroit Center and one of the first people you will meet when interacting with the center.

Courtney Kezlarian is the Receptionist for the Detroit Center.

Raised in Birmingham, she recently graduated from New York University (NYU) with a degree in art history and museum studies. She has worked at several galleries and museums across the world, but her favorite is still the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Courtney is excited to be back in the state of Michigan and engaging with city of Detroit and members of the University of Michigan community.

Gerrard Rayford

Facilities Coordinator

Gerrard RayfordGerrard Rayford is primarily responsible for the management, coordination and maintenance of the Detroit Center’s spaces and equipment. He is also responsible for the development, coordination, and installation of exhibits for the Monts Hall Gallery.

Gerrard Rayford is primarily responsible for the management, coordination and maintenance of the Detroit Center’s spaces and equipment. He is also responsible for the development, coordination, and installation of exhibits for the Monts Hall Gallery.

In addition to his role at the University of Michigan, Gerrard is majoring in History at Wayne State University, with interests in creative writing, music production, and sports.

Administrative Assistant

Brittany Thompson-Johnson is the Administrative Assistant for the Detroit Center, supporting both the Center and the Center Director.
