“Eyes on the Prize: Two Societies” – 6 PM, Friday, February 10, 2017 – The episode features the segment on the 1967 Detroit Rebellion. Detroiters under the age of 67 tell the stories of their lives during the 1967 Rebellion. These stories explore the texture of everyday life as perceived by young people at that defining moment in Detroit history. Through narrative, they examine the impact of the 1967 Rebellion on the trajectory of their lives.
Walk with Me: The Trials of Judge Damon J. Keith – 6 PM, Friday, March 17, 2017 – a documentary on living legend, Judge Damon J. Keith, who dedicated his life to seeking equality for all in the American judicial system.
American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs – 6 PM, Friday, March 31, 2017 – the story of Detroit icon and civil rights activist, Grace Lee Boggs.
13th – 6 PM, April 14, 2017 – directed by Ava DuVernay, this is the new Netflix doc about the 13th amendment led to mass incarceration in the U.S.
Time Simply Passes – 6 PM, May 12, 2017 – The story of Floridian James Joseph Richardson, wrongly convicted of murder, who spent 21 years in prison before his conviction was overturned. The film will be complemented by annual Prisoners Creative Arts Project Exhibit.
