As part of the 25th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Symposium, over 100 Detroit community residents (including nearly 50 children) attended activities in honor of this famed Civil Rights Pioneer at the University of Michigan Detroit Center on Monday, January 17.

The program included simulcast broadcasts from Ann Arbor of speeches by Civil Rights Activist Shirley Sherrod and Duke University Professor Dr. Sherman James; showings of two episodes from the acclaimed “Eyes on the Prize” series; and a number of engaging children’s activities.
