Alexis oversees the day-to-day operations of the front desk at the Detroit Center. As the front line of the Detroit Center, Alexis is responsible for event, program and project management, logistics, room scheduling, customer relations, reception and guest services.
Alexis is a native Detroiter and a graduate of Murray-Wright High School. She earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University and has over a decade of professional experience in the commercial, government and non-profit sectors. She is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan Center for the Education of Women - Advanced Leadership Program. Along with staff of the Detroit Center, Alexis received the U-M Distinguished Diversity Leader Award in 2013 and was nominated for the President's Staff Innovation Award.
Alexis prides herself on being committed to the rebirth of Detroit. She has sat on volunteer boards, such as the Michigan Opera Theatre Volunteer Association and the Junior Board of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit. These experiences have helped bring about awareness and change to the Arts and Detroit's youth. Her vast knowledge of what's going on in the 'epicenter' of Detroit is a beneficial asset to the U-M Detroit Center.
