Environmental Health Sciences Center
The Environmental Health Sciences Center's goal is to enhance the understanding of the role of environmental exposures in disease among community members in Detroit and Southeast Michigan, and local, state and national policymakers. To accomplish this goal, the COEC seeks to foster bi-directional interaction between the Center and community members and policy makers, in order to increase awareness and understanding of environmental exposures and disease through translation and dissemination of environmental health research. The COEC will focus its activities on two primary audiences of interest: residents of Southeast Michigan with a particular focus on the City of Detroit; and, policy-makers and public health decision makers at the Detroit, regional, state of Michigan and national levels. Continuing the theme of the Center, the COEC activities focus on dissemination of research on Lifestage Exposures and Adult Disease.
