SID Speaker Series: Detroit Fiction Writers Speak

The 2012 SID Speaker Series continues with, Detroit Fiction Writers Speak. This creative and insightful discussion panel will take place on Thursday, March 22 from 6pm-7:30pm in the South Studio of the University of Michigan Detroit Center. Admission, light refreshments and free parking will be available to all attendees.

The panelist for this event include:

  • Bill Harris: playwright, poet, novelist and retired English Professor (Wayne State University).
  • Dorene O’Brien: winner of the Red Rock Review Mark Twain Award, New Millennium’s Fiction Award, Chicago Tribune Nelson Algren Award and Bridport Prize.
  • Peter Markus: author of the short fiction books: Good, Brother; The Moon is a Lighthouse; The Singing Fish; We Make Mud and the novel Bob, or Man on Boat.

Moderated by Lolita Hernandez, Lecturer of Creative Writing at the University of Michigan and a retired UAW activist, the discussion panel will address and analyze readings presented by the writer’s.
