NEW to Host Event on Organizational Growth
It’s always challenging to find money to launch new programs and initiatives. Mix that with serving your organization’s mission and what could you get—a for-profit enterprise! Given the economic climate of southeast Michigan, being entrepreneurial is one way to create jobs and resources when few are available.
Is your organization ready to take the risk of starting a new enterprise while simultaneously supporting your mission by hiring clients, the people you serve? NEW presents three people who will help you think differently about how you manifest and express your organization’s mission.
Come learn from a local not-for-profit director who’s started over five “for-profit” enterprises—one attracting national and international attention, a woman who was one of the first Kiva Detroit loan recipients and now is its co-chair, and a regional consultant who supports for-profit/nonprofit initiatives.
Date: Thursday, January 26, 1pm-3pm
Presenters: Lisa Johanon, executive director, Central Detroit Christian Community Development Corporation; Delphia Simmons, project manager/program director for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program at the Coalition on Temporary Shelter (COTS); and Stephen Y. Nose, principal, S|Y|N Associates LLC
