Detroit Center
The University of Michigan has established the 10,500 square-foot UM Detroit Center on the ground floor of Orchestra Place. The facility provides a home for dozens of long-standing programs while opening the door to increased UM involvement with the community. Eighteen UM units are currently participating in the center. The facility provides offices and space for classes, meetings, exhibitions, lectures, and collaborative work while serving as a home base for students and faculty working on projects in Detroit.

2nd High Risk Diabetic Foot Conference
Saturday, November 21, 2009
The mission of the conference will be to afford those with diabetes and other related chronic diseases the opportunity to benefit from the resources that are/ should be available but are often denied.
We will discuss building interdisciplinary teams to care for the difficult issues with diabetic patients. We will identify the strategies to improve self management through educational intervention and articulate the principles of wound care, limb salvage and amputations as they relate to maintaining maximum functional potential and their impact on the quality of life.
While attending this educational conference, there will be an collaboration between the healthcare professional and diabetic consumer--the missing link.
